Inter Miami CF signed defender Marcelo Weigandt on mortgage from Boca Juniors for the rest of the Main League Soccer season on Thursday, with a membership choice to increase the deal for 2025.
The 24-year-old Argentine’s arrival is pending receipt of the required visa, the team stated.

Weigandt is ready to interchange United States males’s nationwide group proper again DeAndre Yedlin, who was traded to FC Cincinnati for $172,799 in Common Allocation Cash earlier this month.
“We’re happy to carry defender Marcelo Weigandt on mortgage from Boca Juniors,” Inter Miami chief soccer officer and sporting director Chris Henderson stated in a group launch.
“He’s a skillful younger defender that’s match and able to contribute. Marcelo comes with expertise in each home and worldwide competitions. We expect this addition helps strengthen our squad to compete for titles.”
Weigandt has been a part of Boca Juniors’ first group since 2019, serving to the membership win two Argentine titles, plus three different trophies.
He joins a big contingent of Argentines at Inter Miami, led by World Cup winner Lionel Messi and coach Gerardo “Tata” Martino. Miami additionally signed Argentina under-23 midfielder Federico Redondo final month.
