Police have arrested a person after an Oldham participant was allegedly assaulted by a Chesterfield opponent in a carpark following a match between the 2 sides.
Hallam Hope, a striker for Oldham, was left with what his membership described as ‘severe accidents’ following a ‘vicious assault’ after the 2 sides met at Boundary Park earlier this month.
Former Everton trainee Hope, 28, wanted hospital therapy and has not performed because the incident, which occurred on September 4.

Nationwide League Oldham are understood to have supplied police with CCTV footage in relation to the alleged assault, whereas Chesterfield stated they had been aiding the power with their inquiries.
In a press release, Larger Manchester Police say the suspect was arrested and subsequently launched pending additional investigation.
