Luton City’s Thomas Kaminski has received the coveted Castrol Save of the Season award because of his implausible double save to disclaim Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze and Jeffrey Schlupp in November 2023.
The Luton goalkeeper helped his crew to their first Premier League win of the season again in November, making plenty of beautiful stops within the victory over Crystal Palace.
Two of which got here in fast succession, as Kaminski denied a deflected effort from Eze after which a fast follow-up strike from Schlupp from the sting of the field whereas the scores had been locked stage at 0-0.
Luton then went on to win the sport 2-1 because of targets from Teden Mengi and Jacob Brown within the second half.
Talking again in November concerning the saves, Kaminski mentioned: “It truly went fairly fast, it was a shot from Eze from outdoors of the field that bought a bit deflection off of Tom Lockyer after which Schlupp bought the rebound.
“I believe it is a feeling I’ll always remember as a result of the entire stadium was singing my identify. It was feeling.
“It is one thing I have been informed to do in coaching, do not admire your save, simply rise up as shortly as you’ll be able to. It saved us within the sport at that second too, [in order] to get factors on the board.”
Kaminski received the award forward of Liverpool’s Alisson Becker, Chelsea’s Robert Sanchez, West Ham United’s Alphonse Areola, Sheffield United’s Wes Foderingham and Everton’s Jordan Pickford.
