Tigres UANL have appointed Diego Cocca as the brand new head coach, forward of the 2023 Liga MX Clausura.
He replaces Miguel ‘Piojo’ Herrera, who departed the membership on November 9 following a disappointing 2022 Apertura marketing campaign that noticed Tigres fall to Pachuca within the Liguilla quarterfinals.
Following the defeat, Herrera blamed an ‘aged roster’, inflicting an inner stir.
The previous Atlas coach will now take over.
“Sure, after all, it is a privilege for me. See you on the volcano, Incomparables,” Diego Cocca mentioned throughout his presentation as head coach.
“The brand new coach will obtain the squad upon his return from trip on November 28, and can lead the workforce’s preseason from November 30 to December 10 within the Riviera Maya,” learn the official membership assertion about his announcement.
He joins Tigres after main Atlas to back-to-back Liga MX trophies, breaking the workforce’s 70-year title drought when defeating Membership Leon on December 12 2021. Cocca left Atlas amid the 2022 Apertura, following a string of dangerous outcomes.
The 2023 Liga MX Clausura is about to kick off on January 6, giving Cocca loads of time to regulate and make the mandatory adjustments to the squad.
